Project to Product
Project to Product argues that large organizations fail at digital transformation because they manage software delivery as projects rather than products. Mik Kersten introduces the Flow Framework, which measures four types of work flowing through a value stream: features, defects, risks, and debts. The distribution across these types reveals whether an organization is investing in growth or drowning in maintenance.
The book bridges the gap between lean/agile team-level metrics and enterprise-level visibility. Its concept of flow distribution (the percentage breakdown of work by type) is a practical tool we use in our Flow Metrics Guide to help teams and leaders see where their investment is actually going.
